April 18: Each hero now gets a "reputation" that can change depending on the choices they make. (Sorry, there's no "evil" reputation for heroes. Just different ways to fight crime.)

Spading stuff

Let's get this ball rolling!

Known facts: Balanced encompasses more than one value. This value range is currently unknown. It's not certain if this is a grid, or just a number. If it's a grid, we can see 2 or more numbers making up our value. Cheating for the black knight encounter takes away at least one "honorable" point. Fighting the black knight gives at least one "honorable" point. --Valera 22:08, 18 April 2008 (MST)

matt the sort of superpowered vigilante (#9561) has honorable right now. i also confiscated the cargo at the docks a couple times before accepting the black knight's challenge in the guild but it didn't change until then, so it might have been a combination of them, i know cheating the black knight lost honorable as matt the vigilante. Matt the vigilante

I'm currently listed as Altruist. Don't know why (yet) --Lazyfire 22:40, 18 April 2008 (MST)

Pseudoname-(Character ID #2444) I have Pragmatic, I chose the less heroic versions of the choices listed,I tried cheating against the pitch black knight, then I accepted bribes at the docks. I think I cheated about 3 or 4 times then switched to the docks. it changed after about the 3rd time i accepted a bribe. Somebody said that cheating the knight 23 times did nothing so it might have just been the docks, or maybe those affected more or something

  • It could be a combination of things. IE: Chastity [#14101] fought the knight with honor 28 times. Is a fresh character, so not tainted with any past encounters. Did not have a chance from Balanced. Does not necessarily mean anything, but ya never know. Will continue to test until I hit 50. if I hit 50 and no change, I will see about finding other, similar non-combats, and see if maybe it's accumulative from -more than one source-. --Valera
  • 42 current encounters on Chastity. Tomorrow I'll begin to play with something else, and then jump around some. --Valera

It may be a number and gets deducted/increased by x each time you do something not heroic or something heroic. When the number gets deducted/increased to another number, you get another reputation. Each choice may deduct/increase the number differently. Please also mention the amount of encounters of the choices when your reputation changed. It appears that choices you've made in the past also count towards your reputation, best if we made a clean, fresh account like Val.--chuwenhsuan

Running away might effect your rep you might even be called a chicken, just a thought.--Reaper 01:52, 19 April 2008 (MST)

In case anyone hasn't noticed, the button for all Rep adventures has the words "What do you do?", or something along those lines, or, at least, the three I've found (which counts the Knight and the Docks) have that. Makes it easy to tell if an adventure affects your rep or not, figured you might find it useful. --Therum 11:22, 19 April 2008 (MST)

Sorry, fixed something here, but wasn't able to do it 'cleanly'. Sorry for any inconvenience.--Olaf 22:25, 19 April 2008 (MST)

Accessing the index page without having logged in displays a reputation of "Vigilante". Screenshot --Usi 20:34, 20 April 2008 (MST)

Okay, I was spading a bit. It seems that taking the bribe once and cheating the black knight once will give you "Pragmatic", and confiscating the cargo once and taking up the challenge once will get you back to "Balanced". I'll try again on my multis to test it out more. —CS 10:17, 21 April 2008 (CST)

  • Okay, I used a multi I haven't used in a while. I went back and forth between taking bribes and cheating the knight. It took 3 cheatings, and 4 bribe-takings to get "Pragmatic". —CS 10:27, 21 April 2008 (CST)

just a little question: has anyone gotten a rare drop since this has been implemented? Because i thought i heard something about your rep possibly effecting your adventures, and i was wondering if it could/would effect rare adventure frequency. --Reaper 16:29, 22 April 2008 (MST)

It is said that your reputation won't affect anything. Also, we should use a brand new multi to spade things out because the choices you've done before reputation was implanted also affects you reputation. --chuwenhsuan your reputation
