The first few times, I got something like (from memory)

> You lose the fight, but you rise again with the blessing of Osiris and Ra. And X HP, so that's something.

X was 100% of my max HP. The two (sometimes three?) gods are random choice out of several (but I always got osiris as one so far).

After that, it stopped healing me, and instead gave

> You lose the fight, but gain the blessing of Osiris and Ra. So that's at least something. Ow.

Each blessing is a different passive on the hat.

• Blessing of Osiris (+3 damage absorption)
• Blessing of Ra (+10% spell damage, +10% fire resistance)
• Blessing of Set (+5% critical hit chance**, +10% acid resistance)
• Blessing of Hapi (+5 PP per turn, +10% ice resistance)
• Blessing of Shu (+5% spell critical chance**, +10% electric resistance)
