  • The first hit and miss messages refer The Blues, a mood of depression. The hit message specifically mentions "Monday Blues", the depression you feel on your way to work after two days away from it. A "case of the Mondays" is a reference to the movie Office Space.
  • The second hit message is a reference the term Black and blue which means bruised or hurt badly.
  • The first miss message refers to the wedding custom that a bride should take to her wedding "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue".
  • The third hit message probably refers to Blowing a raspberry, which might not be painful but is certainly insulting.
  • The third miss message refers to The Blue Raja, a character from the film Mystery Men.
