Mummers' gloves
Plural: pairs of Mummers' gloves
This is a pair of very, very old gloves which have been used for centuries in the traditional art of the Mummers' Play (traditionalists hate it when you call it "mummery", so don't do that). These gloves have been exposed to all sorts of strange energies from when they were worn by mummers and guisers as they performed their traditional silent plays.

Yes, that's right, these are gloves that have been exposed to generations of mimes. You shudder when you consider the implications of that.

When Used

Regular use:

You throw up your hands and slam them against and invisible wall. No matter what you do, you can't seem to get out! For some reason, your opponents can't get through either. You gain an effect: Invisibly Boxed. (Added for 30 minutes.)

Using "make max boxes":

You take some initiative and go ahead and make every box that you can (that's X of them), all at once. Don't worry, you're only wearing one at a time. The other ones get dragged behind you, attached to you by invisible string. You gain an effect: Invisibly Boxed. (Added for 30*X minutes.)

After 5 boxes were used:

You've already used five invisible boxes today. You're going to have to wait until tomorrow for more invisible boxes to show up at the invisible box store.

  • After 10% of the adventures:
You suddenly find an invisible rope, pick it up and start tugging vigorously. It's a pretty good workout. You get an extra Strength point!
You quickly kneel down and strike a pose, resting your chin on your fist, thinking very hard. You look very profound. You get an extra Intellect point!
Unable to contain yourself, you start dancing on invisible roller skates. It's a lot harder than it looks, you know. You get an extra Reflex point!

  • No matter how many of them you have, they can be used at most 5 times a day.

  • The item's description references mummers play, a form of theatre and drama that appeared predominantly in the British Isles during mediaeval times. This performances were not always silent.
  • The silent play, mimes and the use of white gloves refers to modern day Mime art.
  • The intellect gain message refers to The Thinker, a sculpture by Auguste Rodin.
