Talk:Floyd's dark prism

From Twilight Heroes Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Some in-combat messages; these appear before combat intro text for most foes, but after the initial description for villains:

  • Floyd's prism splits the darkness, bathing you in shadows the color of money. Wait, color? Just one? How do you tell the denominations of chips apart if they're all the same color?
    • assuming +chips, but how much?
  • Floyd's prism splits the darkness, bathing you in darkness from beyond the stars. You can't see anything for a second, but your enemy takes {col|psychic|494 brain damage}.
    • I have seen anything between 300 and 1000 on fiendish pit foes, but only 60 against uncommon fool - probably a percentage thing, with a wide range?
  • Floyd's prism splits the darkness, bathing you in the shadow left under clear blue sky. It's surprisingly depressing, but that blue sky really comes out, leaving everything around you lit up better than a flashlight.
    • I would assume +items
  • Floyd's prism splits the darkness, bathing you in the exact shade of black left by an eclipse. You don't see dreams or anything, just find a nice corner to sit in where nobody can bother you. It's also pretty defensible.
    • -10 foe accuracy, -10 foe offense
  • Floyd's prism splits the darkness, bathing you in the dark shade of marching hammers. You've gotten kind of used to it, but your opponent is pretty confused.
    • 2 rounds of stun (including the first one)
  • Floyd's prism splits the darkness, bathing you in a relaxing shade of black. You'll need some information first, just some basic facts once you've shown a greater pre-tesque critter from the inferno where it'll hurt.
    • +XP; I got 1700 instead of 1400

These ones sound like something has charges:

  • Light is changing to shadow and casting its shroud. Floyd's prism splits the darkness, leaving you in a eclipse's shadow under a clear blue sky. It shows you a defensible location and the location of your opponent's valuables.
  • Light is changing to shadow and casting its shroud. Floyd's prism splits the darkness into the color of money and the shade of marching hammers. It's confusing and economical!
  • Light is changing to shadow and casting its shroud. Floyd's prism splits the darkness, casting a shade that leaves you numb and distresses your opponent for 868 brain damage.

How it works

For the 1st 5 hours of wearing the prism, you'll only get the basic 6 messages, all with even chances.

From 5 to 10 hours, the 3 combo messages will start showing up, there now being a total of 9 possible outcomes.
Preliminary data show the chances of the combos are (37.7% ± 5.6%), which has 33.33% in range, the theoretical value for even chances among all 9 outcomes.

After 10 hours of wearing the prism the combos become much more likely.
Preliminary data shows a rate of (79.9% ± 5.1%) chance for one of the combos to show up.
The numbers from the various alts for this stage were like clockwork, so I'm confident in that being 80%

It's unlikely, but I'll have to check on a frayday to see if there's a tier at 15 hours of using the prism. Patojonas 16:52, 21 April 2014 (PDT)

Questions for clarification:

  • Does the "x hours of using" reset on rollover?
  • Does it reset when you unequip the prism?
  • Does it reset on reset?

Why thank you for the questions. I've verified in the past frayday that there is a tier at 15 hours, after that it's combos 100% of the time.

Also, it doesn't care how long you've been wearing it that day. Apparently it is tied to game time and not time you've been wearing it.

So, if your day starts at 5:30 the 1st tier is at 10:30, if you start at 6PM it is at 11PM and so on for the other tiers with a jump of 5 hours each.

I just checked by only wearing it when already after the 3rd tier and combos are prevalent with a few single messages popping here and there. Still working on the 2nd and 3rd tiers firing rate of singles and combo messages. Patojonas 12:32, 24 April 2014 (PDT)

How it actually works

Forget the previous section too much guess and little proof. it works as follows:

From rollover to 9 PM only single messages show up.
From 9 PM to 7 AM (10 hours interval) the chance of combos raises from 0 to 100% in a linear fashion. Chance goes up by 0.16(6)% every minute.
From 7 AM onwards only combo messages show up.

Proof? Here. You might want to download and view in your computer considering how google is handling it.
