  • Play on Society for Creative Anachronism.
  • "Anachronism" (in Greek, "ana" a suffix meaning "not" or "without") refers to something that is out of chronological order, ie a rifle appearing in a mediaeval knight's tomb. "Meta" means "beyond" or "after". Apparently, these guys are kicking it up one notch further, given the ana...or rather, metachronistic gadgets used by the IT wizard and the cloaked swordsman.
