demented scientist

You are fighting a demented scientist.

This is one of the poor souls driven insane by an attempt to comprehend a science beyond his ability. His mind is completely unstable, but his scientifically augmented body is still powerful. You catch a glimpse of the equation he's been scribbling on the wall. "m*e = kill." Uh-oh, that can't be good.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • The scientist blasts you with his "instant hiccups" ray. You eventually have to punch yourself in the head to make yourself stop hiccuping.
  • The scientist sprays you with a caustic liquid. Painful as it is, you're relieved he's not into double-a-caustic puzzles. (acid) damage
  • He zaps you with a beam that exchanges some of your DNA with that of a nearby fly. You get better, but it's very painful in the interim.

He hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! He hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • He blasts you with his ray of unending sneezing. It must be broken, because all it does is make you burp once.
  • The scientist sprays you with a dangerous liquid. No, wait, that's just his leftover coffee.
