Captain Ray Cathode |
---|
You are fighting Captain Ray Cathode.
Rumor is Ray was abandoned in the wilderness as a child and raised by a pack of feral televisions, and now he wants to bring TV to the rest of humanity. That's absurd, of course. He's just a latchkey kid left at home to be raised by a single stationary television, which is plenty bad enough. He won't rest until everyone else's brain has been numbed as much as his own.
Your opponent attacks ...
Hit messages:
- The Captain interrupts the combat for a word from the sponsors. That word is interrupted by an interminable series of commercials, until your brain just melts. (psychic) damage
- The Captain blasts you with his commercial ray. The commercials are ten times as loud as everything else. (sonic) damage
- Captain Cathode zaps you with his patented "reality ray." It turns you dumb, belligerent, and entirely incapable of anticipating the future consequences of any of your actions.
- Special Attack: The Captain Ray Cathode's attack leaves you mentally shaken. You acquire an effect: Dazed. (Added for 30 minutes.)
He hits you for X damage.
Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! He hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- The Captain interrupts the combat for a word from the sponsors. Luckily for you the sponsors turn out to be the Twilight P.D., and Captain Cathode has to duck out for a minute.
- Captain Cathode goes in for the kill, but he's interrupted by a little animated popup in the lower right corner of the alley, telling you both what'll be going on there in the next hour.
- Captain Cathode zaps you with his patented "reality ray." You deftly reject his reality and substitute one of your own.
Fumble messages:
Your foe fumbles! He takes X damage.
Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
You gain (8*Level, cap 400) experience.
You got an item: SQUID disc: Public Broadcasting's Greatest Hits (Guaranteed Drop)
