Reformed arsonist

Following an unfortunate run-in with Little Charley's firestarter kit, your sidekick has sworn off fire except in desperate circumstances... or when fire would be totally sweet... or when it's night.

Level cap: 20

How Obtained

Full-time sidekick.
Obtained from: Little Charley's firestarting kit

Behavior

Ability: Item find and inspired by damaging combat items

Messages

During combat, when using a combat item that deals the same type of damage:

  • <name> gets in on the fun and headbutts <foe name> for X damage.
  • <name> stares at the light of your <combat item> for a moment before guiltily adding X (fire) damage to the fire.
  • <name> sees <combat item> and makes a quick trip to the Sidekick's Apothecary for the ingredients to add X (acid) damage.
  • <name> cracks a horrific joke about <combat item> adding X (psychic) damage of insult to the injury. Or injury to the insult. Or something.
  • <name> jams out to the noise from <combat item>, screaming "This is my favorite band!" loudly enough to deal <foe name> X (sonic) damage. Kids these days.
  • <name> joins you in giving <foe name>the cold shoulder for X (ice) damage. Actually, Z of that was from <name>'s ice ball, but the shoulder counts for something.
  • <name> eyes glimmer at the sight of your <combat item> arcing towards <foe name>. You probably shouldn't ask where <name> got that downed power line, but it deals X (electric) damage.

At the end of combat:

  • <name> lights a small bonfire to help you look for items.
  • <name> starts scrounging for fuel... fuel for justice. You make sure nothing useful goes into the fire.
  • <name> lights a few matches and tosses them in different directions, highlighting areas you hadn't thought to look.
  • <name> sighs "there isn't even anything to burn here."

Notes

  • While active, you will occasionally encounter Big Charley.
  • Z ranges from X-0.4 to X-0.1.
