Got it grinding the Cube. The turn that unlocked it ended at 4:00:35. Looks like it's either crossing over 4am, or adventuring with the understudy later than 4am. [[User:Cristiona|Cristiona]] ([[User talk:Cristiona|talk]]) 20:38, 27 August 2016 (PDT) |

I got this after battling the Orwhal after 4:00 AM with the Understudy as my sidekick. With the message:
The orwhal manages to outdistance you.
On the other hand, your understudy looks bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Your sidekick learns a role: Night Owl
The description hasn't been added yet, it simply states: "I can't find a sidekick of this type."
After battling a stage knife foe in the cube, after 4 AM, with Basic understudy focus:
You look back at your fight without a sense of shame. You gain 10 XP.
On the other hand, your understudy looks bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Your sidekick learns a role: Night Owl.
It seems time is the key factor here. Patojonas 15:28, 15 October 2015 (PDT)
