ectoplasmic chains
Plural: Marley's-worth of ectoplasmic chains
Ectoplasm, the gunk left behind from ghosts, is extremely malleable, and able to take any form. Currently, it has taken the form of some heavy chains.
Ectoplasm may be light, but these chains will weigh you down, both in this life and the next. Clearly, your best bet is to disrupt them by whipping them at your foe.
Comes from October 2011 Item of the Month
Miscellaneous Item
Item cannot be auto-sold
Combat Usable
Only one item of this type can be used per combat.
How Obtained
Use an ectoplasmic glove in combat
If the foe can be replicated (see notes):
You whip the ghostly chains around your opponent, who becomes chilled by them for X damage. The ethereal chains wrap around the foe without seeming to cause any real hindrance.
- On the next adventure you fight the same foe again, preceded by the message:
You yank on the dangling end of the ectoplasmic chains and pull your opponent back for a rematch, just before the chains completely dissolve.
If the foe cannot be replicated:
You lash out at your opponent with the chains. They pass through the foe, dealing X damage, but your opponent manages to avoid becoming entangled.
Always follows usage:
A few ectoplasmic links break off in your hand and become destabilized. You pocket them for later use.
You got an item: ectoplasmic pumpkin
Notes
- X is between 5*Level and 7*Level, up to 50-70.
- Might fail on replicable foes if the level difference between the two isn't high enough.
- Fails on the foes on which deja voodoo doll fails.
References
- The plural refers to the ghost of Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol.
