LI Inc. Headquarters | |
Location: | Downtown Twilight |
---|
It's been a while since any new business opened in downtown Twilight, particularly one big enough to need several towers. It's a shame that this one turned out to be behind releasing a rogue program and almost destroying the city.
Deep in the empty hall, you find a downcast receptionist. "Well, they say that every cloud has a silver lining. Everyone else in LI Inc. got arrested... but, hey, now I'm my own boss."
- While not part of a League:
"At least we finally captured the last copies of that rogue program thanks to the Superhero Leagues!
- 'In addition, if you got a submicroscopic submarine:
- She smiles broadly. "I hope that little sub helped or," she lowers her voice a notch, "I hope at least you got some good joyrides out of it."
"I've been looking for something to really help with the company's image. Seeing as how I'm the company now, it seems like we might want to, I dunno, get presented a key to the city or something..."
"We just need a little good publicity to remind the city that LI Inc. isn't just about making overpriced computers and city-devouring rogue programs."
- While part of a League that helped defeat V.I.L.L.A.I.N.
"At least with the help of heroes like your League, we were able to capture the copies of VILLAIN that got loose."
- While part of a League that did not defeat V.I.L.L.A.I.N.
"At least we can still do some good helping heroes like your League find some space."
History

It's been a while since any new business opened in downtown Twilight, particularly one big enough to need several towers. Knowing the city's luck, it'll be an arm of some vast criminal conspiracy.
You make your way to the lobby and through its forest of floor-length banners. Each one advertises a different computer, but nothing better than you could build and nothing cheaper than a new Lexura.
- From September 24 2012 to September 27 2012:
- Prices aside, there's no obvious criminal activity. The receptionist is even fairly friendly, once she can tear herself away from her browser game.
- From what she says, management plans to "aggressively leverage synergies in a public-private partnership to capitalize on open market share." It doesn't mean anything to her either, but it doesn't sound like they want to blow up the city.
- From September 28 2012 to October 1 2012:
- Past the banners, the receptionist seems quite agitated. By which I mean she screams "We didn't have anything to do with it! Go away!"
- When she realizes you are not, in fact, a reporter, she apologizes quickly. Apparently, something's gone drastically wrong with the city's computers and the reporters haven't given her a moment's rest since.
- She calms down noticably when you mention yours are mostly working. She explains that everyone's down except a few homebrew enthusiasts and folks with the new machines from LI.
- From October 2 to October 30 2012, without a computer installed:

- She comes back out with a plastic baggie. "Here, take this home with you and try it out. The egg... researchers have developed it for exactly this sort of situation. It's a tiny submarine for exploring inside computers."
- That sounds pretty crazy. But if there isn't a submarine in there, hey, free plastic baggie.
- You got an item: submicroscopic submarine
- From October 2 2012 to October 14 2012, after getting the sub:
- Past the banners, the receptionist seems quite agitated, but smiles ruefully she notices it's you. "I hope that little sub helps. The reporters will not leave me alone."

- As you walk away with the proverbial weight of Twilight on your shoulders you hear her mutter "who names a program 'VILLAIN' anyway?"
- On or after October 14, 2012, while in a league that has defeated V.I.L.L.A.I.N.:
- Past the banners, the receptionist smiles at you. "Heard you've had some luck with the debugging! The eggheads don't know how many copies of VILLAIN got loose... I mean, how many copies of the rogue software might be in the wild, but they're behind you one hundred percent!"
- On October 31, 2012:

- While part of a league:
- "And, as the icing on the cake, we finally captured the last copies of that rogue program! Thanks to your league for all their help!"
