You stumble onto a strange sight, at least in Shiloh: an orderly trying to force the patients back into their rooms. It almost seems like a normal asylum for a second.

Then you remember that the patient is a former hero who believes the orderly is an illusion planted in his mind by his villainous nemesis... and the orderly appears to be some sort of cyborg, clearly having more functional mechanical parts than organic ones.

It's actually a little confusing what you're supposed to be doing.

Options:

  • Help restore order
  • Protect the hero
  • Follow the orderly
  • Extricate yourself

What do you do?

Results

If you chose Help restore order:

Order is Restored
You help the orderly wrangle the thrashing, cursing former hero back to his cell. It's sad, but at least that's one person that won't be out here attacking everyone in the halls.

Well, one down... a lot to go.

You gain 130 XP.

If you chose Protect the hero:

Swift Action
Assuming something is terribly wrong with that orderly, you jump in between him and the former hero. Granted, the hero starts gnawing on your ankle, but you're pretty sure that means "thanks!"

Fight the ZOM-A orderly

If you chose Follow the orderly:

An Orderly Trail
The orderly quickly deals with the patient, forcing him back into his room and coming out with a half-full syringe. You hang back, watching the cyborg make his way deeper into Shiloh's tunnels.

Without either a ZOM exoskeleton or both ZOM shirt and ZOM pants equipped

He seems to realize he's being followed and soon turns to fight!

Fight the ZOM-A orderly. Also unlocks the ZOM-A guard

With either a ZOM exoskeleton or both ZOM shirt and ZOM pants equipped, but no source of flying

He doesn't seem to realize he's being followed, but he drops nonchalantly down a deep pit and you can't find any way to follow him.

With either a ZOM exoskeleton or both ZOM shirt and ZOM pants equipped, and a source of flying, but no gas mask or steam mask equipped

He doesn't seem to realize he's being followed, even when you fly down a pit after him.

Unfortunately, the pile of unlabeled chemicals at the bottom of the pit gets to you. Your vision swims and, by the time you've recovered from whatever it was you inhaled, he's long gone

With either a ZOM exoskeleton or both ZOM shirt and ZOM pants equipped, a source of flying, and a gas mask or steam mask equipped

He doesn't seem to realize he's being followed, even when you fly down a pit after him. He seems equally unconcerned by the pile of unlabeled chemicals at the bottom of the pit, while you're just glad you have a way to filter what you're breathing.

Eventually your path leads you to a hidden basement... and subbasement... and subsubbasement.

And the orderly is definitely not the only thing down here with you.

If you chose Extricate yourself:

Nevermind All That
Well, it looks like the hero and the cyborg have that well under control... or something. You can check back in later.
