Are you asking for a challenge?
When you equip one of these talismans, enemies gain a variety of new powers and bosses become substantially harder. This is intentionally a more difficult way to play Twilight Heroes and shouldn't be attempted unless you think things are just too easy.
That said, there are a variety of rewards for taking on these challenges, including a shot at your initials on this board... If you wear one of these talismans for an entire retcon and beat the clock.
