Notes

  • At the start of combats with non-scaling foes you get:
You know that a fight is about to start, but you've just found this hilaroious collection of video clips, and it's hard to pull yourself away. Sure, it's a distraction, but you figure you can fight and watch at the same time. You wouldn't be much of a superhero if you couldn't concentrate on two things at once, right?
  • After combats, sometimes you get:
With an electronic computer:
After the fight you catch an especially funny video clip and have a good laugh, earning you an additional 10 XP.
With a positronic computer:
After the fight you catch an especially funny video clip and have a good laugh, earning you an additional 15 XP.

References

  • Many web sites, including:
  • "Galaxy of Fear" might be a reference to John Whitman's Galaxy of Fear series of novels.
  • "Restaurant at the end of Las Vegas" is a reference to Douglas Adams' book The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
  • "Kingdom of Loathing", "Galaxy of Fear" and "Restaurant at the end of Las Vegas" together reference Hunter S. Thompson's novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
  • "Pigs in Space" was a recurring skit in The Muppet Show. This probably explain the references to "Babies in Space", "Space in Space" and "The Space Place Container Depot".
  • "The Home Away from Home Depot" refers to The Home Depot chain of retail stores. "The Homegrown Despot" is probably a word play on the same.
