Major Twilight's stalwart scutum
Plural: Major Twilight's stalwart scuta
Back in the Golden Age of Twilight, the most famous hero was Major Twilight. He represented everything good and noble about Twilight city (such as it was), and was almost universally loved. Some cynical commentators think it was just because he took the city's name as his own, but most people just think those commentators are jerks.
Regardless, like most of the other Golden Age heroes, he mysteriously disappeared many years ago. Many people think that Colonel Afternoon (who represented "corruption, graft, and the Twilight way") was responsible, but he was never convicted of anything (see above about corruption and graft).
All that remains from this once great hero is his incredible shield. As much a weapon as a means of defense, this nigh-indestructible moon-styled shield was built by Mecha Nist out of acoustically tuned paladinum. Nobody's sure exactly what that means, but it seems to imply that somehow it remembers the Major, and will only work properly for people who hold up his ideals.

- Available for 10 silver stars during July of 2011.
- In combat, according to your Reputation, you'll get to use the following skills once for each fight:
- If Judicious/Vigilante/Pragmatic you'll get:
- Bash with your stalwart scutum(3 PP)
- It's more of a lean-and-press than proper bash, but your opponent gets squished a bit between a rock and a hard place (i.e., your scutum). Your opponent takes X1 damage.
- If Just/Balanced/Watchdog you'll get:
- Bash with your stalwart scutum(3 PP)
- You feint with your weapon and then follow up with a bone-rattling shield-bash that, not surprisingly, rattles your opponent's bones. Your opponent takes X2 damage.
- Throw your stalwart scutum(5 PP)
- You hurl your stalwart scutum at your opponent like an oversize Frisbee. Unfortunately your opponent sees it coming and dodges. Your shield ricochets off of a nearby object and zags to the left, still spinning through the air.
Your stalwart scutum takes an improbable bounce off a stray piece of metal and zigs back in your direction. (1 round after throwing it)
In a one-in-a-million twist, your stalwart scutum comes flying back into the fray, smacking into your opponent, knocking them over, and then landing directly at your feet. You scoop up the shield without missing a beat and continue the fight, while your opponent is Y2 HP worse for the incident. (2 rounds after throwing it)
- You hurl your stalwart scutum at your opponent like an oversize Frisbee. Unfortunately your opponent sees it coming and dodges. Your shield ricochets off of a nearby object and zags to the left, still spinning through the air.
- If Honorable/Virtous/Altruist you'll get:
- Bash with your stalwart scutum(3 PP)
- With a roar and a rush you ram into your opponent with your sturdy scutum, smashing them solidly, leaving them sore, smitten, and stunned. Your opponent takes X3 damage.
Your opponent is too stunned to act. (stuns for 1 round)
