Plural: filters
You can use this filter to, uh ... filter ... various impure liquids, turning them into cleaner and more refined liquids. Sadly, this has no effect on impure thoughts. There's rumors it can be applied to metas, whatever those are.

When Used
You mess around with the filter for a bit, but you're not feeling very creative. Your head must be full of 'Songs in the key of I don't know what to put in here.'
With a shot of espresso in your inventory
Figuring iteration is always fun, you take the most condensed thing you can find in your inventory and pour the shot of espresso through the filter. What comes out is an even smaller pool of even more concentrated coffee. Hey, man, that's a nice shot!
The filter is all clogged up now, so you throw it away.
