Back in my day, when we had a salad, we didn't have your new-fangled dressings or cucumbers or croutons or lettuce. We just had a bowl of bitter greens. And we liked it that way!
Now you kids go out, ruining your appetite with all that candy. Real heroes eat vegetables.
