Han Dynasty-era warrior

You are fighting a Han Dynasty-era warrior.

This old-style mounted warrior seems like a figure right out of the history books. You're not quite sure if it's just a historical reenactment gone awry or if this is some new gang getup, but this guy appears to mean business.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • You try to trick him into firing into a straw dummy, but he sees through your ruse and fills you with arrows. Still, free arrows.
  • He beats you with a fan that's less "southern belle" and more "ancient warlord." damage + (sonic) damage
  • He charges into you with enough force to send a dozen soldiers flying. You may be a superhero, but there's only one of you.

He hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! He hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • You trick him into firing a barrage of arrows into a straw dummy. Because, hey, free arrows.
  • He swings a fan at you, but you know how to deal with clingy fans.
  • He charges into you with enough force to send a dozen soldiers flying... or would have, if you weren't also much less numerous and more agile than said dozen soldiers.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! He takes X damage.

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!

  • The name refers to the video game series Dynasty Warriors.
  • Although labelled as being of the Han Dynasty, this foe's image is based on a portrait of Yue Fei, a general who lived 600 years AFTER the Han dynasty fell.
  • The first miss message refers to "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey": "If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy."
