These are a standard set of kneepads. They're designed for extreme sports like skateboarding, mountain biking, and power sanding hardwood floors, but they work pretty well as a crime fighting tool, too.
Besides, if people start hassling you because of them, try wearing a motorcycle helmet. The insults will stop right away.
