combat.

paraphrased text, didn't grab the exact wording

footpath footpad

a hurried woman goes buy muttering to herself

I'm late, I'm late for a very important mugging

she approaches you, oh hi.

you can guess what happens next

combat was over in 1 round, she didn't get to attack, didn't drop anything.

had been using the autoadventure script, with empty footpath chosen as default location(I'm too lazy to set it to where I actually am, and if it jumps me to the path it takes no time so seemed harmless) and at the time was farming hp in my neighborhood(walk on the mildside crime doesn't sleep) after the fight I clicked "adventure again on the empty footpath" and jsut got the usual theres nothing here message... — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Gannet

Cripes. Took y'all long enough. Cristiona

Thats twice now I've noticed the time was exactly 10 when I found this, the other times I didn't pay attention but I think it was around there. The Gannet

victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!

Chips You gain 321 chips.

You gain 300 experience.~~

And twice more exactly 10pm with 2 alts. nothing at 955, nothing at 1005 and some change(the turn mediately after the 10:00 encounter if that makes a difference..I'll try again with better turn reduction and see if I can catch it twice or something) The Gannet 02:32, 10 May 2011 (PDT)

That would be consistent with my experience. It seems to be the turn after 10:00. --Muhandes 00:08, 13 May 2011 (PDT)
Remember that "turns" are meaningless when measuring something like this. The turn counter is based off the game-clock, which is what matters for things.
Footpath was empty at 9:57:50 PM and 10:02:10 PM. I wonder if it's there for 9:59 till 10:01 or even may have to be exactly 10:00.--Acidcat1 05:04, 16 May 2011 (PDT)

I wonder if this does more than just get beat up at a specific time. No apparent reward for encountering it 10 nights in a row. I've hit every hour on the hour from 7PM to 7AM, but found the footpath empty each time, except at 10PM. Any other ideas?--Dogberry (last edited 30 May at 10:36 PM CDT)

Yeah, I wondered about that - keep in mind that in run, 300 XP(and it seems to be an easy fight) is quite good, so perhaps the XP *is* the reward. On the other hand...What if there was a low chance/semirare item drop? Would take a while to find out... Kurg 02:00, 25 May 2011 (PDT)

Yeah, I think I tried every hour and one frayday checked every turn with just 10. and it seems tp be exactly 10(well the seconds don't sem to count but hours and minutes 10:00) since nothing at 959 and nothing at 1001. don't think theres a drop, seems to be just for the great xp. or at least nothing dropped for me yet either.

I can confirm that the combat occurs at 9:59:50. I will try and check on either side in 10 second increments to confirm that it's within a minute of 10:00. --‡ Trog ‡ 17:38, 26 May 2011 (PDT)

Not there for exactly 9:59. --Harry Dresden 06:16, 27 May 2011 (PDT)

There at 9:59:45--Acidcat1 09:57, 28 May 2011 (PDT) Got it at 9:59:45 The Gannet 23:15, 28 May 2011 (PDT) There at 9:59:50 and 10:00:20 --‡ Trog ‡ 12:27, 28 May 2011 (PDT)

9:57:00 - Nope 10:00:15 - Yup Cristiona

Not there at 10:00:30. Tomorrow I'll check 9:59:30 --‡ Trog ‡ 06:32, 30 May 2011 (PDT)

Also not there at 9:59:30 --‡ Trog ‡ 15:53, 31 May 2011 (PDT)
But it is there at 10:00:25. Checking 9:59:35 tomorrow. --‡ Trog ‡ 03:37, 1 June 2011 (PDT)
It was there at 9:59:35, so I am going to assume that if you show up anywhere under 30 seconds from exactly 10:00 then you will have this encounter. I'm not going to bother trying to check on the 10:00:29 and 9:59:31 times right now. If someone else wants to, be my guest. --‡ Trog ‡ 03:47, 2 June 2011 (PDT)

It's not THAT easy a fight. I hit it at level 3 just after retconning, lost initiative, and got hit for 27-42 damage in each of the first two rounds. In my one attack, I hit her with a lightning bolt for 44 damage, which did not kill her. I therefore don't believe the 300 xp is a major reward in and of itself.--Dogberry 12:34AM (CDT) 31 May 2011

Someone deleted my previous note, and I can't recall exactly when I started, but I did this encounter on approximately 12 consecutive nights with no changes or alternate rewards (before I finally mis-clicked the adventure and went to the wrong place). --Dogberry 10:08 AM 11 June 2010 (CDT)
