At the intersection out in the suburbs, a young man has just finished loosening the bolt atop a fire hydrant, and water is spraying into the street. The man--or maybe he's just a teen, it's hard to say in the dark--looks up, sees you, and runs into the night. In his haste he leaves the wrench behind, still clamped on to the hydrant. It only takes a few quick turns to shut off the flow of water, and things are back to normal again.
