Firearms use the following messages:

Hit Messages

  • you drop into a Weaver stance (all good heroes use proper stances) and fire off N rounds, hitting for X damage.

Miss Messages

  • you line up a shot, but your weapon jams. You waste the rest of the round clearing the jam.

  • you do a big, dramatic dive, firing the whole time. You also miss the whole time. This ain't the movies, kid.
  • you take a quick snap shot, but miss horribly. Perhaps there's something to that Weaver stance.
  • you squeeze off several rounds, but your aim is terrible and they all miss.

Fumble Message

Fumble! Proper maintenance of your weapon is very important. If you don't take care of it, bad things can happen. Like, for instance, a catastrophic misfire that could cause X damage to your face. Which just now happened.

Critical Hit Message

  • you dive through the air like John Shale, time slowing down as you fire N times. You even manage to utter a really lame pun at the same time. It all combines to deal X damage, leaving your opponent in critical condition.
