Plural: large chips
Somewhere along the line someone got their synonyms mixed up, and what used to be known as "a grand" is now known as "a large." A few years back there was a movement to change "large chip" to "venti bucks" but it got a cold reception. Apparently it just wasn't in the stars for venti bucks.
