gyrodreidel
Plural: gyrodreidels
Second verse, same as the first.

This little toy was clearly designed by someone with a twisted sense of humor. The point of a dreidel is for it to stop spinning so you can play the game. The point of a gyroscope is to spin as long as possible. So who on Earth decided these two great tastes needed to be together? Well, anyway, this is a fun little top that you can play with -- if it ever stops spinning!

Other Uses

Grants the Spin that Dreidel! (5 PP) skill once per combat which can have the following 4 results:

Hei

You spin up a hei and win a fistful of gelt. Wait, that's not gelt, you were robbed! All you got was W Chips.
Critical Spin! You spin up a hei and win a double-fistful of gelt. Wait, that's not gelt, you were robbed! All you got was 2*W Chips.

Shin

You spin the dreidel and lose a fistful of gelt. The experience teaches you something... probably something about beating up your enemies so they don't notice you spinning shin. In any case, your revelations is worth X XP.
Critical Spin! You spin the dreidel and it comes up shin. You quickly distract your opponent, but the dreidel just comes back shin again. The experience teaches you something... probably about cheaters never winning or the value of using a loaded dreidel. In any case, the revelation is worth 2*X XP.

Gimmel

The dreidel spins and spins until it lands gimmel up. You rake in the whole pot: Y chocolate coins... errr, Chips. I mean Chips.
Critical Spin! The dreidel spins and spins until it lands gimmel up. Gelt rains from the sky! You collect 2*Y chocolate coins... errr, Chips. I mean Chips.

Nun

You spin the dreidel and it comes up nun. Doing nothing is boring, so you spin it again and it comes up nun.
You spin it again... and again... and again... until it wanders into a nearby puddle and creates a massive water spout, dousing your opponent for Z damage and spritzing you refreshingly, restoring Z PP.
Critical Hit! You spin the dreidel and it comes up nun. Doing nothing is boring, so you spin it again and it comes up nun.
You spin it again... and again... and again... until it wanders into a nearby puddle and creates a massive water spout, dousing your opponent for 2*Z damage and spritzing you refreshingly, restoring 2*Z PP.

Notes

  • All skill results have the same chance.
  • The values for W,X,Y,Z are the maximum between a player level formula and certain parameters from the foe:
Level formulas:
For W and Z 5-10 + ceiling(Level/2)
For X and Y 10-20 + Level
Foe depending parameters:
For W it is floor[0.1*(<foe's average chip value>*Chip Drop Modifiers)]
For X it is 20% of the foe's XP
For Y it twice the amount calculated for W
For Z ?
  • When bought: You take a couple spins with the shopkeeper. You end up down 10 silver stars, but get a great dreidel!
