mismatched earring
Plural: mismatched earrings
This is a single earring from what you're almost sure was a pair. It's the dangly decorative type with patterned metal and a small gem in it--definitely not something someone would wear one of, even in these strange days. Without a match, the value is questionable, other than for the raw materials.

- Without a current companion:
- You bring the earring down to the pawn shop, hoping to cash it in, but upon examination the earring is made of cheap metal and fake glass, so it's not worth anything. On the way out, you browse the "
clearanceFREE!" bin, and pick up a beat-up cloth dummy that's sitting there. Because, hey, free dummy. (Duration: 60 minutes.)
- When Free dummy is your current companion:
- You swing by the pawn shop, but this earring is as worthless as the last one. You trade in your free dummy for a better dummy that's now sitting in the free bin, because, hey, better free dummy.
- When you have a different companion:
- You've already got a sidekick and don't need another one.
Sidekick/companion: Free dummy
