ZOM-C submersible |
---|
You are fighting a ZOM-C submersible.
You're not sure where submarines fit into the cyborg hierarchy or how they got one into the swimming pool below an asylum, but those questions will have to wait until after you deal with the opening missile salvo.
Your opponent attacks ...
Hit messages:
- The submersible dives deep into the pool, into the benthic reaches where crushing pressure and unbelievable cold consume you. How deep does this pool go? damage + (ice) damage
- The submersible hits you with a depth charge cannonball strong enough to sink an aircraft carrier. damage + (fire) damage
- The submersible jolts you with an electrical current along its hull. (electric) damage
It hits you for X damage.
Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- The submersible dives deep into the pool, but you wait for it to come back towards the surface. Remember kids, patience is a virtue.
- The submersible hits you with a depth charge cannonball strong enough to sink an aircraft carrier. Thankfully, it just blows all the water out of the pool and you have to wait for them to refill it.
- The submersible starts to charge up its hull, but you remind it you're not a squid.
Fumble messages:
Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.
Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
You gain 150 experience.
You got an item: lump of sodium (29.6 ± 2.4%)
You got an item: dry cat (31.7 ± 2.5%)
You got an item: toy boat (9.8 ± 1.6%)
You got an item: cybernetic periscope (10 ± 1.6%)
Known resistances/weaknesses
Immune to acid damage.
50% resistant to physical damage.
50% weak to electric damage.

Notes
- If you don't have underwater gear, the foe always hits, with the following line preceding the attack message:
- ... it's hard to dodge underwater when you can't breathe underwater...
- If you don't have underwater gear, there'll be a special damage starting on the 2nd round, which will increase until the end of the fight
- Chlorinated water pours into your lungs for X damage from suffocation and X (acid) damage from that horrible chlorine sting. If only you could breathe underwater.
- As an Elemental with no underwater gear, the message is instead
- The water deals you X (acid) damage from that horrible chlorine sting. Unfortunately, chlorine isn't an element. I mean, it is, just not the good kind you can control.
References
- The foe's image is based on a Kilo-class submarine.
- The third hit and miss messages refer to the movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
