Hope you people don't mind but I organized the page a little. Patojonas 15:18, 23 October 2013 (PDT)

Skill Mechanics

Another message, happens on certain class of foes (scaling foes?) after first success on one of them - seen it in reaches of insanity, pinata scouts and villains (i.e. first disguise in reaches of insanity will succeed, but not any more after that):

> To think that you could already top your magnus opus. No, my friend, no.

In the interest of somewhat reducing clutter, I'll just say there is a pattern to what turns into what. Cristiona (talk) 19:59, 3 October 2013 (PDT)

  • Looks like first letter of foe name, and each disguise is for two letters (so far found) - and those letters are the two beginning letters of the disguised foe name (everything starting with U or H turns into Haunted Umbrella) --XKiv (talk) 04:58, 4 October 2013 (PDT)
  • Confirmed by finding disguises that I didn't know about before, and by disproving "non-grumpy s7g robot" for frightful shadow (crawler turned into cute pumpkin, etc ...); for bonus points, the starting letters of the disguises are ROT13 of each other:

alien ninja
black ocelot
cute pumpkin
deranged quester
evil rainbow
frightful shadow
ghostly tyranosaurus
haunted umbrella
impish villain
jowly werewolf
killer x-ray
laughing yeti
menacing zombie

The disguised foe pages say that XP values are the same as the original foe, but I was getting around 300 XP for disguised thugs and pickpockets, about the same XP as villains. This makes me think that disguised foes scale like villains do. Sanjuro (talk) 23:32, 4 October 2013 (PDT)

That's because I've only used it against villains so far :P I'll be making a combat template just for them to settle a few things so don't worry about that info.
Anyway, if you come across foes that can't be disguised report those please ;) Patojonas 04:49, 5 October 2013 (PDT)

Unknown disguise foe

In the interest of fair play, I should confirm that there is a secret fourteenth enemy. Defeating him does not, however, unlock the secret pig level. --Kinak (talk)

  • so ... anybody disguise 22.86 cm Screws or 404 State yet? --XKiv (talk) 12:04, 23 October 2013 (PDT)
    • I had the same idea but they're limited event foes, that can't be it. I tried disguising a Ballpark foe today and it failed, those are likely out. Patojonas 15:18, 23 October 2013 (PDT)
    • I totally wanted to include a number/special character one actually, but there weren't any enemies to do it with, alas. Who wouldn't want to fight the 1337 @$#+!? --Kinak (talk)
      • Cristiona disguised a 22.86 cm Screws and it became a frightful shadow, guess it just looks for the first letter in the name. Patojonas 05:55, 9 April 2014 (PDT)
        • Forget that, it seems to be a random output when numbers show up. Either that or the skill can't handle the numbers and is "screwing" up Patojonas 17:34, 9 April 2014 (PDT)
  • The name of the IOTM and one of the impish villain's combat messages is a clue to finding Master Zyx. Sanjuro (talk) 21:54, 19 November 2013 (PST)
    • 13 max daily uses, 13 know villains...fighting each one from Z to A in one day? Patojonas 05:23, 20 November 2013 (PST)
    • Nope, disguising foes from Z to A failed to produce anything other than an epic waste of free runaways :/ Patojonas 04:49, 21 November 2013 (PST)
      • I tried ZYXWV and XYZ, then got tired. More suggestions: XYZZY, MASTERZYX, XYZRETSAM. I am assuming that a MZ disguise counts as both M and Z in that. --XKiv (talk) 03:36, 22 November 2013 (PST)
  • I put 10 skill points into the skill and defeated one each of the disguised foes in alphabetical order from A to M. When I disguised a Zion's tears cult leader, I fought Master Zyx instead of a menacing zombie. On a related note, yesterday I fought disguised foes from A to L. Today, when I disguised another Zion's tears cult leader, i fought a menacing zombie. From this, I conclude that the 13 fights to get to Master Zyx have to be on the same day, which will require 10 skill points. Sanjuro (talk) 22:39, 25 November 2013 (PST)

Particular foes that can or can't be disguised

  • The footpath footpad can can disguised (frightful shadow). Sanjuro (talk) 23:40, 5 October 2013 (PDT)
  • The ghost of X (from using an ectoplasmic sheet) can be disguised (ghostly tyrannosaurus). Sanjuro (talk) 22:36, 9 October 2013 (PDT)
  • Big Charley (encounter triggered by having a reformed arsonist sidekick) cannot be disguised. Sanjuro (talk) 23:14, 13 October 2013 (PDT)
  • For some reason, Big Earl can't either. Cristiona (talk) 20:20, 14 October 2013 (PDT)
    • Shares the "Big" and both names being capitapized with Big Charley. Big thug can be disguised so that's not it, can anyone confirm if for example Aaron Burr can be disguised?
  • Tried it on a League Mechapinata and it didn't work, league foes are out as expected, just like ballpark foes. Patojonas 15:18, 23 October 2013 (PDT)
  • I successfully disguised 3 different costumed thugs from the Halloween event (sorry, I forgot which ones). They all changed to cute pumpkins, as expected. Sanjuro (talk) 22:26, 30 October 2013 (PDT)
  • hollow seahorse-duck and frog-scorpion fish can't be disguised. Patojonas 19:29, 4 November 2013 (PST)
  • Using ionic tonic doesn't change the resulting disguise, and the resulting foe keeps the ionic in the name as well as the electrical weakness. Patojonas 05:32, 5 November 2013 (PST)
  • Both lesser and greater monsters in the Fiendish Pit become alien ninjas when disguised, probably because their names begin with the article "a" (e.g. "a lesser ghast-tesque goblin from the inferno"). Sanjuro (talk) 22:12, 15 November 2013 (PST)
  • digital ghost can be disguised (deranged quester). Sanjuro (talk) 22:12, 30 July 2015 (PDT)
