laughing yeti |
---|
You unilaterally decide your foe needs a slick new look and pull them into a whirlwind costume montage.
And... magnifique!
This was a great choice. People should really dress up, or be dressed up, as yetis more often.
Little known fact: Yetis have the best sense of humor of all cryptids.
Granted, that's kind of a low bar. I mean, mokole-mbembe still think the knock-knock joke is humanity's greatest gift to life on this planet.
Your opponent attacks ...
Hit messages:
- The yeti tells a joke, but you can't even hear it over the roar of laughter. (sonic) damage
- The yeti launches into a monologue about heroes, brutally jabbing at all of your misgivings in the name of humor. (psychic) damage
- The yeti cracks a joke, but it isn't very funny, so it just punches you.
It hits you for X damage.
Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- The yeti tries to tell a joke, but a heckler in the crowd just keeps yelling "Play Freebird!" That... doesn't even make sense.
- The yeti launches into a monologue about heroes, but you nod off after the third "Why is it that heroes..."
- The yeti cracks a joke, but you don't laugh. Then it gets all huffy and calls you a Neanderthal, which is actually kind of funny.
Fumble messages:
Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.
Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
You gain (8*Level, cap 400) experience.
You got an item: yeti yurt (Guaranteed Drop)
You got an item: yeti yurt (Unspecified Drop rate)
Known resistances/weaknesses
Immune to ice damage.
50% resistant to physical damage.
50% weak to fire damage.
How to Encounter
- Using Disguise Foe skill on foes whose name starts with L or Y.
Notes
- Foes's stats and drops will be replaced by those of the disguised form.
- Using ionic tonic doesn't change the resulting disguise, and the resulting foe keeps the ionic in the name as well as the electrical weakness.
- Foes that can't be replicated also can't be disguised with the exception of:
- Scaling foes;
- Foes from The streets of Somerset;
- footpath footpad and ghost of X;
References
- A cryptid is defined as "a creature or plant whose existence has been suggested but is not recognized by scientific consensus". The yeti and the mokele-mbembe are both cryptids.
- The first miss message refers to the tradition of an audience member jokingly requesting the song "Free Bird" regardless of the performer's style.
