Adding items wiki requires you to edit several different pages to maintain fluidity in the wiki. The following sections will help you know how to add items.

Creating the item page

  • To create the actual item page, use the {{item}} template. This makes the page much cleaner, and automatically categorises the page.

Using the template

  • |unimplemented: You probably don't need to use this.
  • |descid: This is the found at the end of the URL of the description, which can be accessed by clicking the item.
  • |itemid: This is NOT the same as the number found in the URL! There are multiple ways to find the item ID:
  • It can be found in the link to equip an item: twilightheroes.com/wear.php?equip=ID
  • Similarly, it can be found in the link to use an item: twilightheroes.com/use.php?which=ID
  • Opening the source code in The Mementonian Memuseum also reveals the number: <option value=ID>Item name</option>
  • |name: The name of the item.
  • |plural: Sometimes, some items can only be obtained once, and these will have no known plural. Place an "!" in this slot to represent that. If the plural is unknown but multiple can be obtained, leave this slot blank. To find the plural:
  • Placed or removed multiple from The Mementonian Memuseum, the hideout's storage, or Deep Storage.
  • Purchasing multiple of the item from the Mall.
  • Use the /count command in chat with more than one in the inventory.
  • |image: Copy this from the URL of the image in the in-game description. If there isn't an image on the wiki yet, someone will upload one.
  • |desc: Copy all the non-bolded text here. Remember to restore any formatting (bolded, italics, links) to the text.
  • |type: Copy this from the description. Possible choices are Accessory, Boots, Full-body Suit, Gloves, Helmet, Melee Weapon, Miscellaneous Item, Offhand Item, Pants, Ranged Weapon, Shirt, Talisman, or Transportation.
  • |weapontype: This is the text in the brackets for weapons. Remove if the item is not a weapon.
  • |power: If no power is listed, remove this from the page.
  • |level: It there is no level requirement, remove this from the page.
  • |range: The range for transportation items. Remove this if the item is not transportation.
  • |autosell: Remove this if the item can't be autosold.
  • |nosell: "Yes" if the item cannot be sold; otherwise, remove.
  • |notrade: "Yes" if the item cannot be traded; otherwise, remove.
  • |nopull: "Yes" if the item cannot be pulled; otherwise, remove.
  • |freepull: "Yes" if the item is a free pull; otherwise, remove.
  • |noretcon: "Yes" if the item cannot be used in a retcon run; otherwise, remove.
  • |nomem: "Yes" if the item cannot be put in The Mementonian Memuseum; otherwise, remove.
  • |consumable: "Yes" if the item has sugar or caffeine; otherwise, remove.
  • |caffeine: "Yes" if the item contains caffeine: otherwise, remove.
  • |caffeinefullness: Number of caffeine units the item contains. Remove if the item does not contain caffeine.
  • |sugar: "Yes" if the item has sugar; otherwise, remove.
  • |sugarfullness: Number of sugar units the item contains. Remove if the item does not contain sugar.
  • |consume: Copy the message when consuming an item. Remove if the item is not consumable.
  • |usable: "Yes" if this item can be used, unless it is returned to another player.
  • |used: Copy the message when using an item. Make sure you use it from the Use Things page, and not the multi-use page! If an item was obtained, use the {{obtain}} template to add it. Remove if the item is not usable.
  • |multiuse: Copy the message from multi-using the item, whether it is used or consumed. This works even if you are only using one, as long as this is from the multi-use menu! If the item does not show up in the multi-use menu (even if you only have one), it cannot be multi-used, and an "!" should be placed here to represent that. If the item is not usable, remove this.
  • |returnable: "Yes" if item can be returned to another player; otherwise, remove.
  • |returntext: Copy the message for sending this item to another player.
  • |returnself: Copy the message for trying to send item to yourself.
  • |returnedreceiver: Copy the message for receiving this item from someone else.
  • |combat: "Yes" if the item is combat usable; otherwise, remove.
  • |combatuse: Copy the message when using this in battle. Use "X" for any damage done or health heal, and the {{col}} template to colour elemental damage, and add what it does to the Notes section
  • |weldable: "Yes" if the item can be welded; otherwise, remove.
  • |ench: Use the {{modifier}} template to add the enchantments. If there is no modifier yet, just copy the text directly.
  • |obtain: This part is different depending on how the item is obtained.
  • If the item was dropped by an enemy (or enemies), add the location and the enemy that dropped it.
  • If the item was obtained by using another item, write "Use other item". If other items are required, add " with other necessary items". If the other items must be equipped, mention that.
  • If the item was assembled or welded, use the {{assemble}} or {{weld}} template.
  • If the item can be bought from a store, add the zone of the store and the store name.
  • If the item can only be obtained by disassembling another item, add "Disassembling <other item>"
  • |uses: Many things can go here as well.
  • If the item can be assembled or welded to form another item, add that here with the {{canbeassembled}} or {{canbewelded}} template.
  • If the item is used to created another item, add a note here.

Other things to add

  • If the item has a unique creation message, make a note of it in the notes section.
  • If a created item cannot be disassembled, mention it in the notes section.

Other pages to change

  • The appropriate Items by number page should be updated.
  • Equipment, with or without modifiers, and combat items need to be added to summary tables for each attribute.
  • All of these can be accessed from the Categories at the bottom of the page. Every category that has a summary table has a link from the category page to that table.
  • If the item is created from other items, remember to update those items with the information.
  • If the item is coloured, add it to the Color page
  • Items of the Month should be added to the The Wok of Stars.
  • Semi-rare items and ultra-rare items should be added to their respective pages, and those pages should be updated.
  • Items bought from stores should be added to their stores.
  • Items dropped by enemies should be added to both the enemy page and the location page.
