It seems that equipping the Night Mare as transportation is also sufficient to trigger the quest. I'd put my money on pegasi, armored pegasi, Red Hex and the "horse" item doing something as well. --Penguinpyro 23:53, 3 February 2012 (PST)

One of my alts, Okarin, already completed the quest and the only means of transportation I have are the minivan and the invisible jet. --Patojonas 08:06, 4 February 2012 (PST)

Confirmend that the quest can be initiated with just an armored pegasus as transportation (no coconuts dropped yet). --XKiv 07:32, 15 February 2012 (PST)

A horse and pegasus can also start this. (EDIT: Red Hex can too.) Also, the squire message most probably wont show up without the squire (it didn't with a horse or pegasus). --hoyifung04 16:06, 15 February 2012 (PST)

Initiated it at level 5 with the squire. This is probably the minimum level since the gloves all need level 5 to equip.--Patojonas 06:58, 17 May 2012 (PDT)

Molly just completed it (with the help of a lot of explosive briefings) at level 2. She can't use the gloves, and a normal level 2 wouldn't have survived (took about 8k damage from all the various combats), but it can be done. Cristiona

Also, on the third encounter this happened: Bedivere. Either damage dealt is irrelevant and its just a chance of them slipping or they don't heal between fights....both are strange possibilities, if anyone can think of something else... Patojonas 07:13, 17 May 2012 (PDT)

Today I found that this event was NOT triggered on horseback at level 5, but WAS at level 6. Has something changed?   Richard H-G 07:56, 22 May 2012 (PDT)

My new theory is that, like all the other B quests, this quest needs a XP minimum, not a min level. Probably a value between the XP needed for levels 5 and 6 ? Patojonas 08:03, 22 May 2012 (PDT)

Yep, it needs at least 4150 at the end of the fight to initiate the quest, making it a level 5.5 B quest.--Patojonas 18:23, 23 May 2012 (PDT)

Strikeback

Probably a quirk of how the damage carries over turns, but the knights can be defeated by strikeback, unlike normal foes:

You blast your opponent with an ice bolt, dealing 21 damage.

Your opponent attacks ... He blasts some post-hardcore music, which really rattles your nerves. He hits you for 14 (sonic) damage.

Your opponent is damaged by your fierce defenses, and takes 2 damage.

The knight slips from his horse and falls to the ground. The crowd rushes in, chanting your name as he's carried off to the first aid tent... they have a first aid tent? Cristiona (talk) 20:30, 31 December 2012 (PST)
