I saw that the whirlwind badge is listed as being earned by making a very fast run, but I can verify that that's not the case. I played for a while, then left for three years. When I came back, I finished up all of the new content very quickly. Within one or two (real time) days. I'm not sure what exactly triggered it, but my run took over three years. So it can't be that.[[User:Vidae|Vidae]] 16:40, 14 July 2012 (PDT) | I saw that the whirlwind badge is listed as being earned by making a very fast run, but I can verify that that's not the case. Just added to move ToC to top
Just mass-used 1000 cups of herbal tea. Aside from feeling that my character really needs to go to the bathroom, there's nothing to show for it. Similarly, using up 7 lacks of pies resulted in nothing. Cristiona 23:26, 15 December 2007 (MST)
- Do we know that 666 of pit items, or 52+ playing cards do nothing? It would seem so from conversations in the chat, but I haven't been around long enough to get that far myself. Energythief
- Questionaro had 1791 skulls and 5392 claws the last time he was asked. Also, a few people used 54+ cards when they got introduced.--Starker 14:48, 18 December 2007 (MST)
Based on the number "2" on the delayed gratification merit badge, I was curious if going through more than two levels immediately would be worth a badge. Unfortunately, going up five levels without leaving the training screen doesn't seem to merit a badge. I already had the delayed gratification badge. --Wiggy Stardust 21:01, 18 December 2007 (MST)
Also probably been done, but what about rolling through 2 nights? Friday all the way through end of Saturday? Energythief
I tried having as many buffs as I could get, having 777, 7777, 1337, 31337 and 123456 chips and running away 100 times. Nothing =[ Valentine 14:51, 30 December 2007 (MST)
No badge for 10, 15, or 20 pinatas. Cristiona 22:29, 31 December 2007 (MST)
- Nor for using 5, 10, 15, or 20 pinatas, and by extension, having 600 minutes of the effect. Cristiona
No badge for having more than 5000 turns worth of an aura, or for having every available car in the garage (incl. while walking or selecting a non-car vehicle.) --Mallomar
No badge for knocking on a Flak helmet twenty times. Cristiona
i heard a rumor from swampninja, about there possibly being a badge for having 888,888,888,888 chips. i do realize that it would be near to imposable to get that, but it might be there to find a chip bug. the thought is that 888 bill chips would be the cap, and upon visiting the hero's guild you would loose it all and Ryme would receive a message about it. (like the KOL chip sinks) --Reaper 19:01, 9 January 2008 (MST)
I'm pretty sure that's a really false false rumor. I bet I could get confirmation on this one with Ryme, as it's pretty ridiculous.
- Yeah, I'd have to agree that that's false. It sounds way over-the-top, even for Ryme. ζειαηđδηǐ (τ|ϛ) 22:26, 9 January 2008 (MST)
Also, Swampninja is a known asshat. That is all. - Satan
No improved Delayed Gratification for 5 levels (Levels 20-21, 21-22, 22-23, 23-24 and 24-25) - Cornuthaum
- Nor for 9. Levels 15 to 24. --Valera 12:48, 23 January 2008 (MST)
You cannot roll through two nights unless you save up a bunch of levels since you can only rest for 21 hours before staring Frayday. I went 28.5 hours but no badde.
In the realm of collecting, 1000 smuggler's boxes don't yield a badge (or when opened) and I personally collected 700+ pearls of wisdom and 90+ harbor pearls. I did get very clean swimming around Porcelain Bay however :-) Dogbonius drank 100 bottles of Guatemalan pepper juice and failed. Questionario says that he accumulated 10,000 claws and 3,000 skulls from the pit but no badge for that either. Also, collecting one of every available transport did not yield a badge, at least before the Jetpack arrived. - Hodag
Satan would've had that transportation one as well. Just sayin'. --MN (#228) (T|C) 18:38, 26 January 2008 (MST)
Also, 5k ASX chips do not make a badge as well.
Pretty sure we knew this, but going from 6pm until 8:28pm the next day (26 hours) doesn't give one either. Cristiona
Has anyone waited until they were 1 million exp past the level they wanted to go up? Zillow
Level 50 is roughly 1.2 million XP. I currently have 2.7 million. I think I'm there. Cristiona
Attempted 13 dark arts, and due to reversals in the location, also tried 31 dark arts. However, I don't remember how many minutes of daze I was up to. - eight bit hero
Ryme mentioned in chat that someone has earned one of the undiscovered badges but hasn't gone to the guild and received it yet.--Lazyfire 00:10, 3 February 2008 (MST)
- Since Mad Hamish is past 10,000 ASX chips, I'm betting he's the one. Sefer 11:24, 3 February 2008 (MST)
It's not MH. He already check at 10 k ASX, and he goes to the guild frequently as he transmogrifies just about every day. Also, a detail that was left out is that this was the first merit badge Ryme ever put in, which means there's no way it'd be ASX anyways. - Satan
- Huh. That at least means it might be more interesting to get. I'm hoping it's not Cristiona being past 3 million XP; I'm assuming she'd check at that point too.
- I check several times each day, which is why I found the level 50 badge so quickly. Cristiona
Has anyone used alts to test and see if you get a badge for being inactive a certain number of days? Alternately, do we know what the max amount of time saved up is, and whether there's a badge for having that and being extremely well rested?
- Taking an account that hasn't logged in since before Christmas (lump of coal message appeared when I logged in), going straight to the Hero's Guild... nothing. Bedtime: 3:00am (~252 turns left) Cristiona
Logging in with my multi with 320 turns and visited the Hero's Guild right away, nothing. chuwenhsuan
Let's get some merit badge talking going! I am currently looking for the last badge that Ryme has released. The only hint he gave is that he doesn't think anyone will find it. Hero of the universe 12:59, 7 March 2008 (MST)
27 lost souls used, one at a time and no badge. Darn. Cristiona 07:28, 11 March 2008 (MST)
Cristiona: Where do you guys get the idea for the number of items needed? Hero of the universe 11:42, 11 March 2008 (MST)
I heard there are 18 badges now, we have 6 more to find! Hero of the universe 12:12, 4 April 2008 (MST)
- Where did you hear that from by chance??? --CorruptShadow 15:42, 21 May 2008 (MST)
No badge for a bad gambling habit. I just "used" over 400 lottery tickets and no badge. - Hodag
No improved Delayed Gratification for 10 levels (went from level 40 to 50 in one shot)- Isabou
- As of this time, I can attest that there are no other badges related to leveling aside from delayed gratification. --Valera 10:11, 22 May 2008 (MST)
No badge for 10000+ minutes of toasty heart. ( returning lost items) - Mischal
- It's an IoTM related item, I highly doubt he'd be mean to people like that. --Valera
2 hints for merit badges given out during Tea Tyme with Ryme 4. "One unfound badge is most likely to be discovered on Halloween." "Another involves a sidekick" As far as the sidekick, being in combat with all permanent ones, using 11 different non-perm ones and attacking once with them then dismissing have been tested. For Halloween, eating 2 of each Halloween candy has been done --Zillow--
No badge for encountering all (known) villains, or, by extension, having all their stuff (at least in its current form), whether or not you've opted out of the limelight after doing so. --Dogberry, 2 Dec 2009 8:24 AM CST
Template Thingie
I noticed that none of the individual merit badge pages link back to this page. Aside from items used on the badge pages, they're all dead-ends. Could the template be modified to include a link back to this page? Perhaps the link could be in the green bar at the top? Cristiona 03:42, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- done --Muhandes 13:07, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Known Hints
Ryme has been known to say that there is a badge involving a usable sidekick, and one that is most likely to be found on Halloween. I also talked to him once and he said that there is a badge that is "impossible" to get, although when questioned further he said that eventually someone with the right idea will find it... --Zillow--
- You added some "unknowns" in between badges. Is this based on something? Do you know where the new badges fit in the order? --Muhandes 06:19, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I asked Ryme in chat and he said that number 8, 16, 17, and 20 were missing Zillow
As of August 8th someone is 25% of the way to the new badge (the one that came out July 21st) and Ryme says it "Would be trivial to get in one day, if someone was inclined." Zillow
Sybil
We know that Sybil lives before the RRRR badge. But how it relates to the Grandmaster of Retcon badge is still in question. Once someone has both badges, we should consider arranging this page again. Not sure if that's a 'needs spading' or an 'incomplete'? --Lxndr 15:17, 11 January 2011 (PST)
- No need to do anything, it will take at most three days to know. --Muhandes 00:41, 12 January 2011 (PST)
- Sybil comes after Grandmaster. --Harry Dresden 18:35, 13 January 2011 (PST)
- Excellent. I surmised correctly. --Lxndr 06:40, 14 January 2011 (PST)
