frightful shadow |
---|
You are fighting a frightful shadow.
The shadows outside are frightful but... actually, there's nothing delightful about this. Living, disembodied shadows are creepy.
Not, you know, mannequin creepy, but getting there. Now, if it were a shadow mannequin? I wouldn't still be here writing this description.
Your opponent attacks ...
Hit messages:
- The shadow hovers behind you, giving you the horrifying sensation of being followed. (psychic) damage
- The shadow engulfs you in an area of perfect darkness, shadier than the deepest recesses of space, which are apparently pretty cold. (ice) damage
- You'd think a shadow couldn't hurt you, but you're forgetting three claws... on each hand... so six claws total.
It hits you for X damage.
Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- The shadow hovers behind you, giving you the opportunity to crack wise about being "shadowed." But you don't, because that joke is awful.
- You'd think a shadow couldn't hurt you... and you'd basically be right.
Fumble messages:
Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.
Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
You gain some experience.
You got an item: extra shadow (Guaranteed Drop)
