- The effects of one unit of Foe toughness include:
- +1/2 XP (rounded up), only if the effect was active at the beginning of combat.
 - Unspaded effect on tohit, dodge, offense and defense.
 
 - All effects apply for both positive and negative foe toughness.
 - The XP effect only applies if the foe toughness modifier was active at the beginning of the fight (as it is with all sources in the first table below).
 
- There is one known exception to the above rule: using throwing star - red dwarf in combat does effect XP.
 
- Scaling foes are not affected by foe toughness modifiers which are present at the beginning of the fight. They are affected by such modifiers that are initiated during combat.

Weakening on hit
